PUBLIC MEETING
NOTICE
SURVEY NEAR COMPLETION IN TROY HISTORIC DISTRICT
On July 24, 2009, the City of Troy became a Certified
Local Government through the United States Department
of the Interior. Because of this status, the city is able
to apply for historic preservation grants from the State
of Missouri Department of Natural Resources. In March
of 2010, the City of Troy was awarded a 60/40 grant for
a Historic/Architectural Survey of downtown Troy. Sixty
percent of survey costs will be paid for through the awarded
grant. The remaining forty percent has been graciously
provided by the Troy Convention & Visitors Bureau,
which allows the survey to be completed at no cost to
the City of Troy. This survey will aid the city in its
quest to have qualifying historic buildings within the
district, be eligible for placement on the National Register
of Historic Places. The City has contracted with consultant,
Ruth Keenoy, to implement the survey. In accordance with
the survey contract, on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, the
City will hold a public meeting. This meeting will be
at 10:00 a.m. at Troy City Hall, 800 Cap Au Gris. Ms.
Keenoy has submitted a final survey report and will be
on hand to answer any questions the citizens of Troy have
in regards to the Historic/Architectural Survey of Downtown
Troy.
